Sleep for Sleepers - What Has Been Will Be Done, Again (EP) - Review

Sleep for Sleepers crept into my ears on a boring day at work. In an effort to find some energy to get me through the day, I landed on this band’s myspace page. As I listened I was taken back to a time when music was so new and exciting. Simple but incredibly catchy and beautiful. All of this on the bands new EP, What Has Been Will Be Done Again, a follow-up to their full length album, The Clearing.

Sleep for Sleepers has noticeably improved since their last release, however still holding on to the simple, catchy rock that they’re so good providing. Dripping with vocals reminiscent of Copeland and Number One Gun, with a heavy punch of a dirty telecaster tone that would make Acceptance proud, the album pulls the listener back to a time when the genre had a new excitement and innocence. With the opening track, Meaningless! Meaningless! Everything is Meaningless!, the energy stays continuous. Since the last release, it seems they’ve gone a tad heavier, proving so on A Time To Be Silent, A Time To Speak.

All in all it’s a great find and one to keep up with. Download the full EP on iTunes or catch a listen on the band’s MySpace page.
